Workshop FAQs
-
1. Can I get a refund or reschedule if I miss a class?
We totally get that life happens, but unfortunately, we can’t offer refunds for missed classes. If you let us know at least 48 hours in advance, we’ll do our best to reschedule you into another session, based on availability.
-
2. When will my pottery piece be ready for pickup?
Patience is key when it comes to ceramics! Pieces are typically ready in about 3-4 weeks. This gives your creation time to dry, go through two kiln firings, and get hand-glazed with care. We'll shoot you an email as soon as your piece is ready for pickup.
-
3. What if I don’t pick up my piece on time?
We love holding onto your beautiful creations, but with limited storage, we can only keep pieces for up to 1 month after notifying you. After that, they may be discarded. Need more time? Just reach out and we’ll work something out!
-
4. Can I bring a friend to class?
Yes, the more the merrier! But they'll need to register and pay in advance, no surprise drop-ins, please. We prep materials and space ahead of time to make sure everyone has a great experience.
-
5. What should I wear to class?
Think comfy and casual- clay can be messy, but most of it washes out! Aprons are provided to help protect your clothes, and closed-toe shoes are a must for safety.
-
6. Can I glaze my own pieces?
For most group workshops, our team handles glazing to ensure your pieces come out beautifully. If you're in our 4-week Intro to Handbuilding course, you'll have the chance to glaze your own work. Some workshops also include underglaze painting for that personal touch—just check the workshop description for details!
-
7. Do you offer private lessons or events? tem
Absolutely! We love hosting private lessons and custom events like birthdays, team-building sessions, or special celebrations. Interested? You can find more info here.
-
8. Can kids join workshops?
We offer specific workshops for kids ages 7-11, designed to be fun, safe, and age-appropriate. Our regular workshops are for ages 16+ since they cover more advanced techniques and require a bit more focus (and strength!) to keep the experience safe and enjoyable for everyone.
-
9. What materials are included in the class?
Everything you need is covered—clay, tools, firings, and any workshop-specific add-ons (like lightbulb kits for our lamp workshop). We also take care of all the behind-the-scenes magic, like glazing and firing.
-
10. How do I care for my finished pottery?
Most pieces are food-safe, microwave-safe, and dishwasher-safe unless otherwise noted. That said, handwashing is always a good idea to keep your pottery in its best shape for years to come.
-
11. Do you sell gift cards?
Yes! Gift cards are a perfect gift for any pottery lover—whether it's for a hands-on workshop, a creative date night, or a chance to unwind with clay. It's a thoughtful way to give someone an experience they'll remember and a piece they can proudly call their own. You can grab one online here.

Kids Workshop FAQ 👩🎨
-
1. What happens if my child misses a class?
We know things come up! While we can’t guarantee make-up classes, we’ll do our best to offer a spot in another session if it's available. If that's not possible, we’ll make sure your child has a chance to catch up on any missed projects in the next session. If it's something they can work on at home, we’ll provide materials and instructions to keep their creativity going.
-
2. What should my child bring to class?
All materials are provided, so there's no need to bring anything special. That said, comfy clothes that can handle a little clay are a good idea, and packing a small snack and water bottle is always a win. We provide aprons to help keep outfits mess-free!
-
3. Does my child need prior pottery experience?
No experience? No problem! Our classes are designed for beginners and returning young artists alike. We'll guide them step-by-step and make sure they're learning while having fun with clay.
-
4. How do I sign up and pay?
You can sign up easily on our website by visiting our Workshops and Classes page. Just choose the session that works best, complete the online registration, and pay securely. Spots are limited, so we recommend signing up early!
-
5. What kinds of projects will my child make?
Expect projects that encourage creativity while teaching foundational pottery skills! Kids will explore a variety of handbuilding techniques, including coil building, slab construction, and texturing. They'll make fun and functional projects like nature-inspired tiles, animal sculptures, and pinch pots. Plus, they'll get the exciting opportunity to try out the potter's wheel and throw their own piece!
