This Galentine’s Day, grab your BFF and let’s make some plateful memories! Join us for a 2-hour sip-and-create pottery class where everyone will paint and carve one 8" plate. It’s all about celebrating friendship, creativity, and finding joy in the moment. This workshop is your chance to thrive, connect, and create something beautiful in a welcoming pottery studio!
When: February 10th from 6:30-8:30pm and February 13th from 6:30-8:30pm
What You’ll Do
🌼 Floral Painting & Carving: Get ready to dive into creativity! You'll start with a beautiful ceramic plate as your blank canvas, and we'll show you how to bring it to life with colorful, whimsical floral designs. Plus, you'll learn how to carve delicate details that add a personal touch to your masterpiece.
🎨 Technique Talks: Our amazing studio manager, Kat, will walk you through easy, step-by-step techniques for painting with underglazes—think brushstroke tips, color blending magic, and carving tricks to make your flowers truly pop.
👩🎨 From Sketch to Stunning: Whether you're dreaming up dainty daisies or bold, beautiful blooms, we’re here to cheer you on and help you create something that feels totally you!

Instructor Bio:
Kat’s love for ceramics began years ago in her small kitchen in Honolulu, where she was inspired by her friend’s pieces and her own early attempts at creating teacups and trinket dishes. What started as a simple hobby soon grew into a significant part of her life, leading her to eventually take classes in Hawai’i, the UK, and Türkiye. Through these experiences, Kat has refined her techniques and gained insight into the cultural significance of the craft. Her approach to ceramics now combines a technical skillset with a deep appreciation for the medium’s heritage. Since relocating to San Francisco, she teaches wheel throwing and hand-building classes, allowing her to immerse herself daily in what she loves. Insta: @clay.by.kat

First Class
Please arrive about 5 minutes before the class begins to check in and find a seat.
Age Requirement
The classes are paced for and primarily booked with adults, but students 16+ can sign up with Guardian permission.
Cancellation Policy
To request a cancellation or refund, please email bri@sumiware.com. Refunds requested more than one week prior to the class date are fully refundable or you can reschedule to a different class. Refunds requested within one week from the class date are 50% refundable. No refunds are given within 24hrs of the start of class. Should a class not fill sufficiently, it may be cancelled 24hrs prior to the class date and full refund will be issued to those enrolled. Thanks for understanding!
