Pinch Pots & Pennies: Create a Ceramic Piggy Bank- May 23rd

Whether you’re saving up for something big or just trying to stop your coins from rolling under the couch, this is your sign to make a bank that’s as cute as it is functional.
Join us on Thursday, May 23rd from 6:30–9:00pm for a hands-on pottery class where you’ll handbuild your own clay bank. Classic piggy? Quirky creature? A weird little blob with a slot in its head? Anything goes!
What You’ll Do:
• Pinch & Build – We’ll walk you through how to make two pinch pots and combine them into the perfect round base for your bank. This beginner-friendly technique is fun, simple, and super satisfying.
• Sculpt & Attach – Add ears, snouts, feet, tails, whatever brings your bank to life.
• Cut & Customize – Use a template to add a coin slot and, if you’d like, a hole at the bottom for a rubber stopper.
• Decorate & Glaze – Add personality with carvings or colored underglazes, then pick your final glaze color. We’ll handle the rest!

Because it’s relaxing, low-pressure, and lets you create whatever your little clay-loving heart desires. No wheel, no stress—just clay, creativity, and good vibes.
After Class
We’ll fire and glaze your creation, and email you when your finished bank is ready for pick-up in 3–4 weeks. (Just in time to start saving for summer treats!)

First Class
Please arrive about 5 minutes before the class begins to check in and find a seat.
Age Requirement
The classes are paced for and primarily booked with adults, but students 16+ can sign up with Guardian permission.
Cancellation Policy
To request a cancellation or refund, please email bri@sumiware.com. Refunds requested more than one week prior to the class date are fully refundable or you can reschedule to a different class. Refunds requested within one week from the class date are 50% refundable. No refunds are given within 24hrs of the start of class. Should a class not fill sufficiently, it may be cancelled 24hrs prior to the class date and full refund will be issued to those enrolled. Thanks for understanding!
