Cozy Up with Creativity: Pottery Date Night Workshop
As the air turns crisp and the nights grow longer, it’s the perfect time to cozy up with your partner in a hands-on pottery date night experience. In this 2-hour guided class, you’ll explore the tactile world of handbuilding, shaping raw clay into something uniquely yours—just in time to embrace the warmth and creativity of the winter season.
Feel good in the inviting atmosphere of Studio Sumi, where you can warm up with a cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate while getting your hands dirty with clay. Handbuilding is a fun, low-risk introduction to pottery that doesn’t require a potter’s wheel, making it the perfect way for beginners and experienced makers alike to get creative together.
Each couple will be shown inspiring examples to spark creativity. From there, you and your partner will craft a one-of-a-kind piece using a variety of tools and templates, with expert guidance from your instructor. Whether your creation is playful or meaningful, the night is sure to be filled with creativity and connection.
Once your pieces are complete, Studio Sumi will handle all the firings. Your creation will be coated in a glossy white glaze, allowing the natural speckles of the clay to subtly emerge—ready for pick-up in 3 weeks.
The purchase of 1 ticket covers both you and your partner for this unforgettable night.
